Sarah Boser

they/them

Sarah Boser is a multimedia artist, painter, and overthinker from Portland, OR, figuring out what it means to make art in between the tedium of adult life under capitalism.

Sarah graduated with a B.A. in biocultural anthropology and a medical humanities certification from Oregon State University, an experience which deeply shaped their artistic work and interest in the human experience (shorthand for "it's really interesting to think about the fact that people are animals, and about the diversity of cultures, experiences, and ways of being that make up humanity"), a subject that comes up in many of their zines, paintings, and occasional poems.

Their work has been published in Prism, OSU's art and literary magazine, and their paintings have been displayed in such prestigious galleries as "on the wall in their parents' living room."

Sarah is especially interested in process-based art, repetition, using zines as a tool to over-analyze and over-explain the things they're interested in, and run-on sentences. When they're not at their job at an academic library, they can be found wandering around Portland, watching movies at indie theaters, working on filet crochet projects, or thinking about maybe getting around to starting a new painting.

Olivia Eiler

Olivia Eiler is a writer, poet, and Twilight rat based out of Portland, OR.

Olivia graduated from Oregon State University in 2024 with a B.A. in English and a B.S. in Education with a focus in Secondary Language Arts Education. She currently teaches 7th grade English Language Arts at a local middle school full-time, which has served as inspiration for her zines and poetry (it's called coping). Olivia's pedagogical philosophy reflects her outlook on the purpose of language and art: "I don't want to teach kids how to write, I want to teach them why we write."

Outside the classroom, Olivia continues to accumulate a formidable folio of notes-app poetry, some of which has been published in Prism, OSU's art and literary magazine. Her "pipe-dream" is to someday become a professor of Shakespearean literature, so she has written several sonnets in iambic pentameter. Olivia finds that the inherent rhythm of poetic meter is part of its beauty - it is one of the few kinds of poetry that teaches you how to say it by reading it.

When she is not indoctrinating the youth of America, Olivia spends her time exploring Portland hand-in-hand with her partner, scouring vinyl shops, cooking recipes she finds on Instagram, and yapping about her favorite films/shows (Twilight, probably). Rez is a filmmaker, creative, and enjoyer of many things.

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, he graduated from Cornish College of the Arts (before they merged for evil monetary gain) with a B.F.A. in Film and Media and uses his degree to fantasize about the beauty of film - whether it's writing a film or picking up rusty nails as a PA on set. (Although luckily, these things happen in real life, too).

Rez often uses his art, film or otherwise, to tap back into his humanity and curiosity of the world and his understanding of it. The things he creates end up somewhere in the Venn diagram of whimsy and wonder. His recent directorial work, "my big gay end of the world party," while absurd with its distant asteroid-ending conspiracy, explores his semi-autobiographical confrontation of his queer identity in the context of his Filipino identity.

His work has been highlighted at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport as a part of Sea-Tac's collaboration with Cornish Film and he hopes to premiere more work soon elsewhere.

Marley Rhiannon Sherwood

she/they/he

Marley is a writer, multimedia artist, HTML wizard, and library worker. She's a long-time Portland resident, but was born and raised in Wichita, KS (which is why she's really trying to make midwestern Gothic "a thing"). She is preoccupied with the liminal and the uncanny, and draws much inspiration from folklore, religious and occult art, and medieval literature. When she's not writing or drawing, you can find her reading voraciously, watching horror movies, or attempting ill-advised DIY projects. She copes with artist's block by praying to the Holy Trinity (Hilma af Klint, Leonora Carrington, and Remedios Varo).

Outside of her own zines, her writing has been published in Pathos Literary Magazine and by Nowhere Girl Collective. She has a B.A. in English from Portland State University and is studying for a library degree. She's currently working on a historical horror novella set in the tallgrass prairie of southeast Kansas.
